Wendy Hughes

Wendy, originating from Michigan’s lower peninsula, has spent the last three decades in
Michigan’s upper peninsula with her partner and two children. Wendy attended Lake Superior
State University for Liberal Arts & Geology. Her professional background consists of
government, non-profit, hospitality, medical, billing and coding, and tribal enterprises.
Throughout her various careers, she has pursued various trainings to deepen her knowledge, as
well as build a strong network of various government agencies and community leaders. She has
served on the Michigan Coalition Against Homelessness Legislative Committee, the Michigan
Balance of State Continuum of Care, and her Local Planning Body.
Wendy has a passion for helping create safe and effective solutions for those who are experiencing
housing insecurity and homelessness.
In her free time, Wendy enjoys spending time outside looking for Yooperlite stones, tapping for
Maple Syrup, and spending time with her children, pets, and partner.
