Implicit* Bias in Healthcare Training Bundle
In order to meet the requirements of the State of Michigan LARA Mandate for Implicit Bias training in Healthcare, we are offering a training bundle consisting of:
- 1 hour of self-paced online Implicit Bias Training
- 1 hour of instructor-led Implicit Bias Training
You are purchasing a bundle consisting of both the online and instructor-led training. Details for the training include:
- 1 hour MyUB™: Recognize and Manage Bias online training course – This one-hour, e-learning course provides real life examples and practical strategies for minimizing biased actions and decision making. Based on the proven research about Cultural Intelligence (CQ), MyUB™ helps learners build awareness, develop strategies for managing bias, and ultimately reduce the application of bias in the workplace and beyond.
- 1 hour of instructor-led Implicit Bias Training – This one-hour interactive workshop will be facilitated by a certified instructor and will cover topics around the healthcare, patient care, bias’s in patient care and other areas that cover the requirements of the LARA Mandate. There will be time at the end of the session for questions and answers.

Note for Michigan healthcare professionals: this workshop is designed to comply with the SOM LARA requirements adopted June 1, 2021, see: Governor Gretchen Whitmer and LARA Announce Adopted Training Requirement to Improve Equity Across Michigan’s Health Care System. The Cultural intelligence Center does not provide CEU or CE credits at this time.
*We use the terms implicit bias and unconscious bias interchangeably as we don’t see a significant difference in the definition or use of the terms.

The course can be used as a stand-alone or as part of a blended learning approach. It also includes a pre and post assessment to monitor a learner’s progress in managing bias.
