As part of the accreditation process, Grace Bible College (GBC) has chosen the cultural intelligence model to guide their diversity and inclusion efforts over the next three years. These efforts will be part of their Higher Learning Commission (HLC) Quality Initiative (QI), an institution’s commitment to strategically address an area of high priority. Last year the CQC conducted a comprehensive CQ Audit with GBC and most recently facilitated CQ training with the top leadership team. The Commission recently approved this initiative and praised the college’s efforts to date noting “progress is already apparent…steps already taken suggest the intent is serious and can indeed impact culture change.”
Over the next two years we will continue to provide assessment and training resources to the broader campus community, including having every student take the CQ Assessment as a pre- and post. The final year of the Quality Initiative will include another CQ Audit to further assess progress. Tim Rumley, Director of Assessment ad Institutional Effectiveness at GBC commented, “Grace Bible College chose to partner with the Cultural Intelligence Center because it offers us an academic, research-based approach to improving diversity and inclusion. CQ is transforming our campus community.”
