Using Cultural Intelligence To Manage Unconscious Bias: The Spectrum Health Model

The recent mandate by LARA requiring unconscious bias training for healthcare providers has healthcare organizations searching for the best trainings and best practices on the topic. Yet research shows that unconscious bias training alone has little if any impact on behavior change.

One of the most effective ways to manage bias is through cultural intelligence, the capability to function effectively in any multicultural context.

Join us as we highlight our partnership and work with Spectrum Health, a 31,000 employee organization that has been using the CQ Framework to address bias for the last three years.

You’ll hear directly from Valissa Armstead, Spectrum’s Director, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion. She’ll share strategies, successes, and challenges as they have rolled out unconscious bias training across the organization. Dr. Sandra Upton, VP, Global Diversity Practice, will also share insights about the research and best practices in unconscious bias training.
