A globally recognized leader in work-integrated learning (WIL), Karima has led the development of WIL programs that advance UVic’s institutional priorities in global engagement, Indigenous reconciliation, equity and inclusion, and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. She brings a values-based, collaborative, and inclusive leadership style grounded in research and evidence-based practice.
Niels Melis-De Lamper
Accessibility and Inclusion Co-op & Career Coordinator | University of Victoria
Bringing a background in project management, program administration, inclusion, and supporting young adults in navigating barriers towards employment, Niels is excited to be part of UVic Co-op and Career Services’ International, Indigenous and Accessibility team with a focus on accessibility and inclusion. Invested in clearing the pathway towards participation in Work Integrated Learning (WIL) for students who identify as being part of underrepresented groups.

With over 15 years of professional experience, Sarah specializes in career development, international work-integrated learning, and higher education. As a Co-op Coordinator of International Programs at the University of Victoria, she is passionate about empowering students to explore meaningful global opportunities. Sarah leads efforts to collaborate with international organizations to create impactful internship opportunities. Her expertise in career counseling and facilitating cross-cultural understanding has allowed her to cultivate enduring partnerships with employers and deliver programs tailored to student success in a global workforce.
