CQ in Organizational and Work Contexts

Organizational effectiveness is increasingly dependent on people who can be effective and respectful in a variety of cultural situations. For a long time, this aspect of effectiveness was very difficult to measure. Now, using the only evidence-based assessment of cultural intelligence (CQ), you can assess and develop CQ for those in your organization.

We offer the following online assessments and personalized feedback reports for public, private, and non-profit organizations. Assessments can be used on a one-time stand-alone basis or can be done before and after training sessions.

CQ Multi-Rater Assessment

This provides the most accurate assessment and feedback on CQ because it combines self-assessment with observer-assessments. Participants and their observers complete online surveys, and participants receive a 20-page personalized feedback report that includes

  1. Personal Scores for each of the 4 CQ capabilities (Drive, Knowledge, Strategy, Action) as well as scores for the sub-dimensions for each capability
  2. Observer Feedback on CQ capabilities
  3. Comparison of participant scores with the CQ worldwide norms
  4. Feedback on Individual Cultural Value Orientations (e.g. personal preferences on values such as individualism vs. collectivism, low vs. high context, etc.)
  5. Reflection questions to guide sense-making and interpretation of the feedback
  6. Suggestions for creating a personal developmental plan, with ideas for ways to use CQ strengths and specific action steps for improving CQ capabilities.

Additional Services for Organizational and Work Contexts

Self-Rated CQ in Organizational and Work Contexts

This CQ assessment is a self-inventory of the four CQ capabilities. Participants complete online surveys and receive a 12-page feedback report. Reports include scores for the four CQ capabilities, comparisons with the CQ worldwide norms, and reflection questions to guide interpretation of the feedback.

Feedback on Individual Cultural Value Orientations

We can add assessment and feedback on Individual Cultural Value Orientations to any of the above specialized assessment programs. Participants receive enhanced 14-page feedback reports with information on cultural intelligence as well as their personal preferences for seven individual cultural value orientations (e.g. individualism vs. collectivism, low vs. high context, etc.). Note: individual cultural value orientation feedback is automatically included in CQ Multi-Rater programs.

Before and After Assessments

Programs can be set up for a one-time stand-alone assessment or can include two assessments - such as before and after training sessions or other developmental experiences.

CQ Summary Reports

Facilitators and organizations can request CQ Summary Reports with aggregated results for a group of participants.

Summary reports include demographic characteristics of participants, comparison of participant scores with the CQ worldwide norms, distribution of participant scores (low-moderate-high), and interpretative observations and implications.

CQ Summary Reports for specialized programs also include information on the distribution of individual cultural value orientations, comparisons between sub-groups of participants, comparisons between self and observer ratings, and/or comparisons between T1 and T2 scores.
